Rev. Dr. Marcee Binder
The Rev. Dr. Marcee Binder is the lead pastor of Rockbrook United Methodist Church in Omaha Nebraska. She received her M.Div. from Iliff School of Theology with an emphasis on pastoral care. She is a recent graduate of Saint Paul School of Theology where she received her D.Min. Her thesis and research was centered around trauma-informed theology and how this theology is beneficial for female worship participants who have experienced sexual violence.
Binder also was previously to an outreach ministry of a church for six years. The outreach ministry included a food pantry and daytime homeless shelter and provided services for those who were underemployed and unemployed. She has first-hand experience in trauma, trauma response and the effect trauma has on relationships with family, friends, work and with God.
Binder lives in a suburb of Omaha with her husband, pack of dogs, three fish, two hermit crabs and an axolotl.
